Bud Clark

Bud Clark

Bud Clark is the owner of Saab specialty shop J & B Imports in Orange, California. Bud’s affinity for Saab started in 1961 while working as an apprentice at a Saab/Volvo/Studebaker dealership in Springfield, Massachusetts. Previously, he had not been a fan of the strange-looking brand, but after a hair-raising ride in a customer’s car, Bud was soon hooked and became the head Saab technician at the dealership, buying his first Saab in 1962. Bud left that dealership in 1965 to work at a Chevy dealership until 1968, then moved to Southern California and continued a racing career while working at a Saab dealership and working on Saabs at home in his spare time. In 1969 another Chevy dealership beckoned, and Bud worked on, and raced, mostly Corvettes. His obsession with Saabs never waned, though, and finally led to the opening of his 6,500-square-foot shop, J & B Imports, in 1982. Without ever advertising, Bud built a sizable and devoted clientele, many of whom proclaimed him a “two-stroke genius.” Among the many Saabs in his personal fleet is his pride and joy: an immaculate 1962 Quantum III Roadster. Bud is also very proud of his 1987 9000, which was declared “totaled” after it was driven off the boat and improperly secured on the trailer, bending the unibody. He re-built the chassis and replaced 110 body parts, and the car now has over 760,000 miles on it. These days, Bud is semi-retired and newly relocated to North Carolina, but travels back to California to check in at the shop with next-in-line Ron Marshall and to transport yet another one of his beloved Saabs to its new home in North Carolina.


Jeff Gorenflo

Jeff Gorenflo

Orio’s Technical Manager Jeff Gorenflo has over 30 years of Saab experience. Since 2004 Jeff has held a leadership position with Orio, Saab Cars North America and General Motors providing a vital link between the old and new. His Saab career began in 1986 at a small dealer in Knoxville Tennessee and he has been a Saab Master Technician since 1992. Jeff operated his own Saab independent repair facility from 1997-2004 before he was hired by General Motors for their new Saab Technical Assistance Center. Jeff has owned dozens of Saabs throughout the years, from a 1972 Sonnet III to his current 2008 9-3 Sport Sedan. His personal favorite (that he still owns) is his 1991 Beryl Green 900 SPG he purchased directly from Saab as a factory demo.


William Losa

William Losa

William Losa is a Service Advisor and Diagnostic Tech at Right Solution Inc in Los Angeles. As a teenager with a 1978 99 EMS, William was eager to learn how to work on the car himself. Yet when he sought help from various Saab shops around town, no one was interested in educating him; they just wanted to do the work for him. One day he called Saab of Santa Monica asking about a part and he was referred to Walter Wong at Right Solution. Walter, of course, had almost the exact same 99 EMS in his fleet. William quickly became a customer and Walter immediately saw William’s enormous eagerness and potential to become a skilled Saab Technician. Walter allowed William to use the shop’s tools and work area to perform his own repair and schooled him in all things Saab. William found his calling, and has how been an integral part of the Right Solution family for over seven years.


Walter Wong
Walter Wong

Walter Wong is the owner of, and senior Saab Technician at, Right Solution Inc in Los Angeles, California. Early on, Walter was a Saab Head Tech in Latin America, making trips to Sweden for continued training. In the United States, Walter started out very humbly as a mobile mechanic by piling as many tools as he could into the back of his ’85 SPG and patrolling around town for fellow Saab owners to offer his services. Then, much to the dismay of his neighbors, he started doing work out of his home garage. When 12 customers showed up one Saturday morning, he knew it was time to find a location for his shop. And thus, Right Solution was born 18 years ago, relocating to bigger and bigger spaces until settling down at its current location. Walter believes all things in life should be done with passion, which he strongly conveys, especially when talking about Saabs and doing everything possible to keep them on the road. Fondly known for coming up with less conventional and sometimes quirky “Mickey Mouse” solutions to the many woes of Saab workings, Walter has built up a large, loyal clientele, many of whom are considered part of the shop’s “Saab Family”. Walter owns a sizeable fleet of Saabs in various cosmetic condition, yet they all run quite nicely and are frequently loaned free of charge to customers. As Right Solution continues growing, Walter’s motto remains the same, “We do what the car needs, not what the book said.”
